Vanilla Coast was founded by two old friends, Gez Lovell and Dan Chorley.

Vanilla Coast has brought together a beautiful collection of home and garden accessories.

Many of the products are unique, as they have been handmade or hand painted by Gez, from stunning driftwood hearts to iconic silver leaf union jack canvases, plus framed paintings that can be personalised for that special gift or occasion.

Their goal of the site was to create an online-shopping experience that reflected the design and lifestyle aesthetics that Vanilla Coast itself aspire – clean, fresh, contemporary yet classic!. The site is clean with subtle use of the corporate colours and branding identity throughout the site.

Vanilla Coast are based in South of the UK and offer hand-crafted products and artisan products for gifts and for the home.

Their range includes block and canvass paintings with gilt leaf, drift wood sculptures, children’s gifts and bedroom accessories as well as other home furnishing and accessory products.

Their brief was to design a logo brand that could work in colour, as a mono-coloured logo and that would also work as a stamp for packaging purposes.

The Coca-Cola company launches new bottle partly derived from plants.

The company plans to test its new plastic bottle, that is partly made from sugar cane and molasses, initially in North America.

I say “good for them”, after years of rotting teeth and trying to sell London tap water as ‘designer water’, Coke is actively doing their bit for the world.

Design wise, I’m not sure. I remember how long it took to get used to a can without a removable ring-pull!

Thinking about this topic, I would love to say that the following illustration is incorrect…but it’s 100% true!

Often, I am in a situation where I help out friends at unsociable hours for no payment, but they seem happy to pay a stranger for doing half as much during office hours!

A series of fruit juice packages that have the look and feel of the fruit they contain, has been created by Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa.

As well as strawberry, banana and kiwi fruit (my personal favourite)  “juice skins”, Naoto Fukasawa also offers a “silken tofu skin” for a carton of soya milk.

I originally posted this last year on another blog, but thought they were definitely worth another look!
